My name is Arin Dachner, I am 44 years old and live in Berlin with my husband and our son. Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by different scripts and languages. Soon I started to read books printed in Fraktur<\/a>. A little later, I learned to read the S\u00fctterlin script<\/a> with its beautifully curved, elegant letters.<\/p>\n\n\n

However, after graduating from school with the German Abitur, I went into a totally different direction. I got a degree in a technical profession, while working on improving my English skills on the side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Almost 10 years ago, I decided to become self-employed as a translator and to focus again on my passion for scripture and language. Now I am in the wonderful position of spending most of my working time doing something I really love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to that, I gathered a lot of experience with genealogical research during the last couple of years – I rummaged through old church books and expanded existing family trees not only for clients, but also for my own family, and I educated myself on interpreting the results of DNA tests. Now I can offer advice and research regarding these topics as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are so many things old documents can tell us, and I look forward to making these stories accessible for you.<\/p>\n\n\n
